Through a robust college-preparatory curriculum rooted in the Catholic faith, Frassati Catholic High School prepares students to walk on the path of true happiness. Inspired by our patron, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, Man of the Beatitudes, graduates of Frassati Catholic will be true moral, intellectual, and civic leaders who lead others on the path to beatitude. Frassati Catholic graduates will be agents of change in all sectors of society, building a culture that embodies the truth about the human person who is destined to share in God’s own divine life.
Here at Frassati Catholic High School, we look to Pier Giorgio Frassati as our guide in promoting an authentic Catholic culture, fostering the pursuit of truth and growth in virtue. Now in our seventh academic year, our journey following in the footsteps of Blessed Pier Giorgio has seen the growth of our student body, three graduating classes, and the rapid expansion of our campus.
As we look to the future, we never lose sight of our patron and the belief that holiness—and therefore, true happiness—is attainable for all of our students. It is our goal that every person involved with Frassati Catholic High School come to know the happiness for which God has created them. I invite you to learn more about Blessed Pier Giorgio and the dynamic community he has inspired.
In Christ,
Sister John Paul, O.P.
Principal
Bl. Pier Giorgio was known for his joy and jokes, his athleticism, his care for the poor, his political activism, his selflessness, and for challenging his friends to virtue. His life illustrates that the words faithful, virtuous, joyful, zealous, athletic, studious, and servant can all be used to describe a person who is animated by the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.
Responding to the call of Pope Saint John Paul II for a “new evangelization” and to the growing need in the world for witness to the Gospel message, the Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia have extended their presence in schools throughout the country and beyond.
Leading up to the school's opening in 2013, the Dominican Sisters oversaw the development of the curriculum, assisted the Board of Trustees in fundraising efforts, and laid the groundwork for the school we know today. The Dominican Sisters that administer and staff Frassati Catholic High School are integral to the fabric of our community.
In just eight years, Frassati Catholic has experienced remarkable growth and expansion. With a student population of roughly 272, Frassati Catholic students have found success in the classroom, on the field, and work to develop a deep relationship with Christ.
Frassati Catholic is ranked a top-25 school in the nation, and with a curriculum centered on Ethics & Culture, our students are provided a well rounded education that forms the foundation for their future. It's no wonder why in just four graduating classes, Frassati Catholic graduates have earned more than $18.5 million in scholarships to 175 colleges and universities worldwide.
Bringing a Catholic high school to North Houston was a dream for our founders, and one that was years in the making.
Following numerous attempts spanning back almost 25 years, the North Houston Catholic High School (NHCHS) committee was revitalized in 2007 with the mission to build a Catholic co-educational college preparatory school in north Houston. In 2008, following a broad feasability study, the Committee prepared a plan for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Catholic School Board, and in October 2008, Daniel Cardinal DiNardo formally approved of the plan.
Prepared with approval from the Archdiocese the Committee purchased a 63-acre site on Spring Stuebner Road in December 2009.
In October 2010, the Dominican Sisters of the Saint Cecilia Congregation accepted the invitation of the Cardinal to be administrators of the school and in early August 2011, the Congregation sent three sisters to Houston.
On July 6, 2011, Daniel Cardinal DiNardo announced that the school would be named after Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. On October 1, 2011, the Cardinal officiated at the land blessing of Frassati Catholic High School.
On August 25, 2012, Bishop George A. Sheltz officiated at the Groundbreaking Ceremonies and one year later, on August 22, 2013, Frassati Catholic High School opened its doors to the founding freshmen class.
In May 2015, Frassati Catholic High School received accredited status from the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCED).
In March 2016, the Student Life Building was completed. In August 2016, the school became a full 9th-12th grade campus. In May 2017, the founding class of Frassati Catholic graduated with 100% college acceptance and more than $2 million in scholarships.
Today, Frassati Catholic High School has graduated four classes that have received more than $18.5 million in scholarship offers. Our students have 100% acceptance into college, and have been admitted to over 175 colleges and universities worldwide.
