On Friday, January 8, we welcomed home 52 Frassati Catholic alumni for our annual alumni Mass on campus. It was a beautiful event highlighted by the unveiling of the gift from the Class of 2020, a professionally designed and produced mascot, Felix the Falcon!
The Frassati Catholic High School boys basketball teams hosted the 4th annual New Year's Classic tournament with great success on 12/29 and 12/30. Our varsity boys worked hard to defeat Rosehill Christian 52-35 and Beaumont Kelly 65-61! They missed out on claiming the tournament championship with a close loss in overtime to Cypress Christian (46-49), but no one can deny that our Falcons were extremely successful these past few days. Good job Falcons!
Our girls basketball team hosted the 2nd annual girls Christmas Classic here at Frassati Catholic. They got the tournament off to a great start by defeating St. John XXIII 56-24! With sophomore MaryKatherine Kloesel (#15) leading the Falcons with 16 points, and senior Olivia Shadick (#12) scoring 15 points, there's no doubt that these young women are a force to be reckoned with out on the court. Way to go Falcons!
Our Falcons put on a marvelous show at last night's annual Fall Fine Arts Performance! From percussion and chorus to theatrics and dance, it's clear that the students here at Frassati Catholic are a talented bunch.
Giving Tuesday was a huge success here at Frassati Catholic High School. Our community was extremely generous with some benefactors even offering to match donations up to $4,000 the day of! Thanks to your giving spirit, we raised over $25,000 for the Frassati Fund which helps us bridge the gap between what we charge for tuition and the actual costs of educating our students, a difference of roughly $4,000 per student.
The Frassati Catholic Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica, our Spanish Honor Society, held a donation drive this week to help those who have been affected by Hurricane Eta in Central America. They collected items that included gently used clothing, baby items, non perishable food items, masks, and hand sanitizer. We're so proud of our Falcons to take the initiative to help others in need! Thank you to all those who donated.
For the second year in a row, and fourth time in five years, the Frassati Falcons Volleyball team won the TAPPS Area Championship. Frassati Catholic traveled to Austin to take on the St. Michael's Academy Crusaders, one of the firecest competitors in TAPPS 5A, and won in five thrilling sets. Before the Area Championship, St. Michael's had won seven games straight with three set sweeps. It took some gutsy play by the Falcons to secure the win, including exceptional defensive play and their cool-under-pressure execution.
The University of St. Thomas continues to expand Dual-Enrollment and Dual-Credit offerings and recently highlighted their Dual-Credit course, PHIL 1311 Philosophy of the Human Person, taught at Frassati Catholic High School. The unique collaboration between the University of St. Thomas and Frassati Catholic marks a new level of course offering, and adds to the strength of academics offered at Frassati Catholic.
Frassati Catholic Falcons Volleyball won a big Bi-District Playoff game against the St. Augustine Lady Knights on Saturday and will move on to the Area Championships against St. Michael Catholic Academy in Austin this week. The Falcons won 4-1 with strong performances all around including the game ending block by Cat Briers and Alexis Bodunrin.
Frassati Cross Country had a strong showing at the District Championships on Saturday, October 24, at The Woodlands Christian Academy. The outing was highlighted by the girls team finishing second in the district.
The Falcons had a strong showing once again in Saturday’s hay bale meet at Nottingham Park in Houston. The girls team finished in 3rd place with strong individual performances. The boys team was headlined by Thomas Langley who finished 9th out of the 120-person field.
The Falcons Cross Country team turned in impressive results across the board in their second meet of the season at the Woodlands Christian Academy on Saturday. The Lady Falcons, led by Ashlyn Miller, took second-place, and Thomas Langley earned a medal for his fifth-place finish in the men's 5000 meter varsity race.
In their first meet last Saturday, the Frassati Catholic Cross Country team kicked off their season with a fantastic showing. Ashlyn Miller won the girls varsity race, and the girls team took fourth place overall. The boys were led by Thomas Langley who medaled, and there were fantastic performances all around.
On Tuesday, August 25, Frassati Catholic High School was ranked 21 in the nation by the Classic Learning Test (CLT). The CLT, an organization known for its Classic Learning Test Suite of Assessments, is rapidly growing in popularity as an alternative to the ACT and SAT. The CLT boasts partnerships with nearly 200 colleges and universities nationwide, and has been recognized by the Wall Street Journal for its innovative testing platform.

Frassati Catholic became home to a beautiful Steinway Model B Grand Piano on August 19, 2020, thanks to the generosity of Alex and Dale Bucher. It was a special treat to welcome the new piano, and we are excited for our students and faculty who will be able to use this amazing instrument.
