We are approaching the final stretch of the school year and, as happens even in the best of circumstances, this can be a very tiring time. The message to students today is hold on and finish strong! You have accomplished so much this school year, not to mention the amazing job you have done adapting to remote learning, so don't let up, keep pushing until the end. It will be here before we know it.
This afternoon, Governor Greg Abbott and the state of Texas have closed all schools through the end of the school year - public, private, and higher ed. While this is a disappointing development, we continue our commitment to the health and safety of our community, and the important role of supporting our public officials and health professionals working to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Frassati Catholic will keep our campus closed and continue remote learning through the end of the semester.
Tristan Shorey '23 was awarded USA Gymnastics Academic All-American recognition. This accolade is for Junior Olympic athletes who maintain rigorous academic standards while continuing with their intensive athletic training. The recognition has become a prized acknowledgement for student-athletes, and a list of the recipients is sent around the country to collegiate coaches for recruiting. Join us in congratulating Tristan on this amazing accomplishment!

And Edwin Rice signed to play football at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. All three athletes had distinguished careers at Frassati Catholic, and they join Kathryn O’Brien, Jerel Resurreccion, and Aislynn Shore as members of the class of 2020 who will play at the collegiate level.
Blessings to each of you during this Easter Octave – eight days to celebrate the one amazing truth that Jesus Christ is risen from the dead and has forever conquered death! Every Easter try putting yourself in the position of Jesus’ Apostles and disciples – they found an empty tomb and spoke and ate with someone who died! He rose from the dead. Do we let that sink in? Do we ponder what that means for us? One priest, during his Easter homily, said, “I am not here to convince you of the resurrection. I am here to proclaim it!” Jesus rose from the dead. He rose from the dead so that we, too, might rise and live with Him forever. Yes, proper celebration of this truth requires more than just eating some great chocolate on Easter Sunday!! Let us celebrate with our own proclamation of the resurrection in all that we think, say, and do!
We pray that the Lenten Season has been a grace-filled time for you and your families. It is now time to turn our attention to the more intense time of prayer, fasting, and penance – the Easter Triduum. The purpose of our Lenten focus on prayer, fasting, and almsgiving culminates in the beautiful liturgies of Holy Week and the Easter Triduum (triduum means “three days”). We hope that you and your families will be able to use the resources we've provided or the many other resources available in order to enter deeply into these most holy of days. We need the hope that Easter gives now more than ever and may we celebrate this Feast with deeper gratitude and a more profound understanding of God's personal love for each one of us!

It's April 6, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati's birthday! This year we're celebrating from home, but that doesn't take away from our gratitude for the example he provides our students and his role in the rapid growth and expansion of the school. Let us ask Blessed Pier Giorgio to pray for us and invite his intercession in support of our students and community.
We have enjoyed reaching out to each of you and your families over the phone in the past days - speaking with you all has been a very welcome change of pace. We are happy to share that our community is doing well despite difficult circumstances. In these days of uncertainty and what seems like a constant stream of bad news, it is understandable that, at times, we will experience the feelings of anxiety and fear. While you are most likely consulting your own spiritual and emotional health resources, we wanted to share these two short videos about managing anxiety and how to pray in times of crisis. Also, please remember that you can always contact us if you need additional support.
