The Frassati Catholic Boys Varsity Soccer team secured their first playoff berth since moving to the TAPPS 5A level. They are headed to the playoffs after beating district opponent, Emery Weiner, Monday night. The 2-1 victory was won in overtime with goals scored by Federico Celis and Adrian Medina. The playoffs begin next week and the Falcons will take on the third-place finisher from District 3 in San Antonio.
The Frassati Catholic High School Board of Trustees has elected Paul Primavera as Board of Trustees President, Bridget Edwards as Vice President, and Matt Regitz as Secretary. We also welcome long-time supporter Kate Mims as the newest member of the Board of Trustees.
On Saturday, January 25, 2020, 53 Frassati Catholic students along with faculty and staff traveled to Austin for the Texas Rally for Life. They attended Mass and marched to the State Capitol. It was an amazing pilgrimage opportunity for our community, and highlighted the Frassati Catholic commitment to a culture of life.
The Frassati Catholic swim team competed in the TAPPS East (District 3) Regional Swim Meet hosted at the University of Houston Saturday, January 18. Frassati Catholic brought home gold medals in five events, won silver in eight, and bronze in one with 26 medals overall. The Girls team won the East Regional Division II championship, their second regional championship in as many years, and took third among all Division levels in the Houston Regional.
On Saturday, January 11, Kiki Vorderbruggen '21 joined 24 other finalists at NRG Center for the finals of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Quick Draw Portrait competition. Participants were given one hour to complete a portrait of a live model which was then judged for top prizes. Vorderbruggen was selected as the second place finisher in the competition.
Kiki Vorderbruggen '21 was selected as a finalist in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Quick Draw competition. She was chosen as one of the 25 finalists from more than one thousand submissions in the portrait category. This Saturday Vorderbruggen will attend the finals of the Quick Draw Portrait Competition at NRG Center where she will have one hour to complete a work which will be judged alongside the other finalists.
