Our principal, Sister John Paul, O.P., of Frassati Catholic High School announced today that Anna Claire Fincher and Mark Morrison have been named Commended Students in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, will be presented by the principal to these scholastically talented seniors.
The Frassati Catholic Varsity Volleyball team was recently named to the Houston area private school top 10 by VYPE Magazine. The Falcons are ranked number 8 and they are in good company, including teams from TAPPS 5A and 6A, as well as teams from the Southwest Preparatory Conference.
The fall athletics teams continue a great start to the season with our Varsity Volleyball at 26-4, Cross Country runners consistently performing at a high level, and the Football team getting a big win in their first home game of the season.
On Wednesday, September 11, our sophomores participated in the first Pier Giorgio Day of the 2019-2020 school year. Pier Giorgio Day happens once each quarter, and it is an outgrowth of the culture of service at Frassati Catholic, tying us back to our Patron. During Pier Giorgio Days our sophomores travel to four different organizations in the community over the course of the year - visiting a new site each quarter. This Pier Giorgio Day was an exciting moment for our sophomores as it was their first service activity outside of Frassati Catholic.
On Monday, September 9, the Frassati Catholic community welcomed renowned author and psychotherapist Tom Kersting to campus. Kersting is the author of the acclaimed book "Disconnected: Reconnecting Our Digitally Distracted Kids," a focus of a parent book study that was offered last year. During his hour and a half talk with students, Kersting presented research and insights on the effects of technology on our brains and behaviors.
We are excited to announce that we have opened applications for the 2020-2021 academic year as well as applications for tuition assistance. If you or someone you know are interested in a Frassati Catholic education, please contact our office of admission or visit our apply page for more information.
