Fall sports are off to an amazing start! The Varsity Volleyball team is 14-2 on the season, the Cross Country team ran in the Incarnate Word Academy Invitational last weekend and will have their first district meet this Saturday at The Woodlands Christian Academy, and Varsity Football has been gearing up for their August 30 opener against the John Cooper School with two scrimmages. Congratulations to all our student athletes.
Today marks the sixth anniversary of the date we opened our doors to the first class of pioneering students that would follow in the footsteps of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. From the beginning we have always looked to Blessed Pier Giorgio as our guide in promoting an authentic Catholic culture, fostering the pursuit of truth and growth in virtue. Six years later we have never lost sight of our patron and the belief that holiness - and therefore, true happiness - is attainable for all of our students.
This summer Gabriella Borrello '20 and Morgan Martinez '20 were chosen for a three-week workshop in Italy studying the works of William Shakespeare. They were participants in the University of Dallas' "Shakespeare in Italy" program, a selective summer workshop where participants spend three weeks reading selections from Shakespeare's sequence of sonnets and three complete plays in detail: Julius Caesar, The Merchant of Venice and The Taming of the Shrew. Through the program they had the opportunity to visit Rome, Venice, and Padua.
Each year the College Board, through the Advanced Placement Program, announces AP Scholar Awards based on student performance on AP exams (including exams taken in past years). We at Frassati Catholic High School are very excited and proud to announce that we have 19 students who received recognition as a scholar.
August 13 marked the first day of school for the 2019-2020 academic year. Our students were thrilled to be back on campus to connect with friends, dive back into their studies, and continue their journey following in the footsteps of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati.
In 2018-19, Frassati Catholic High School Falcons athletics moved up from TAPPS Division 3A to 5A. Now, the Frassati Catholic community is getting ready for year No. 2. Swimming, golf, cross country and track and field all experienced success at state last year. Now, Frassati Catholic Athletic Director, Chris Meredith expects numerous varsity teams to be at the top in their respective districts this year.
