High school bass fishing, a rapidly expanding sport, has found its way to the Frassati Catholic community and the school will be sending their club bass fishing team, made up of a pair of two-person teams, to the Texas High School Bass Association’s Houston Regional Championships at Lake Somerville on Saturday, April 20. Frassati Catholic will be represented by seniors Patrick Haggerty and Matthew Guion, junior Kailer Amador and his freshman brother, Riley.
The Frassati Catholic Golf team competed at the Ft. Bend Christian Invitational hosted at the Pecan Grove Plantation Country Club in Richmond, Monday, March 25. This was the second invitational of the season and the Frassati Catholic Girls team built on their early success. From the start, the Girls team was at a disadvantage with two of their six members unable to attend, but standout play helped them power through to a third-place finish.
Members from the Frassati Catholic High School Coalition for World Languages club participated in the 55th Annual Texas French Symposium at Plano East High School on March 22 and 23. The Texas French Symposium is a statewide competition for high school French students who are non-native French speakers. Students compete in oral events, academic tests, art and music events. The Frassati Catholic Community was represented by Eva Farfan, Luis and JP Esparza as well as club advisor Mrs. Luz Ayre.
Frassati Catholic alumnus Joshua Davidson qualified for the 2019 NCAA Diving Championships with a gritty performance in the NCAA Zone B Championships Tuesday, March 12. Davidson, currently a sophomore at Florida State University, overcame adversity and used an exceptional final dive to secure a qualifying spot in the NCAA Championships taking place March 27-30 in Austin, TX.
The Frassati Catholic Government and Debate Club attended the Houston Regional Model UN Summit, Saturday, March 2, at the YMCA of Greater Houston. The Regional Summit was a gathering of Model UN teams from both public and private schools in the Greater Houston area. Frassati Catholic delegates took home numerous accolades at the summit including several Best Delegate awards.
The Frassati Catholic Golf team competed at the Faith West Academy Invitational hosted at the Willow Fork Country Club in Katy, Monday, Feb. 25. The Faith West Academy Invitational was the first event of the season for the Frassati Catholic Golf team. Propelled by some stellar individual play, the Girls team took home second place overall and the Boys team finished third overall.
