Each week we take a little time to highlight one outstanding member of our faculty/staff. In the second week of our Spotlight series, we'll visit with one of our newest faculty members, Mr. Dylan Delgado. Mr. Delgado is a History teacher at Frassati Catholic, working with freshmen and sophomores, and is our JV Blue basketball coach.
On Tuesday evening, the Varsity Volleyball team won the TAPPS 5A Area Championship with a 3-1 win over the Eagles of Fort Bend Christian Academy. The team is now set to compete in the Regional Championship match this Saturday, November 2, against San Antonio Holy Cross, game location and timing TBA.
The second ever Frassati Catholic Homecoming was an amazing event! We had a Mums and Garters competition among the students, won our Football game against the Warriors of Pasadena First Baptist with a touchdown as the clock ran down, welcomed home alumni from our first three graduating classes, and came together for an incredible Homecoming Dance.

In the first week of our Spotlight series, we're excited to introduce the newest member of the Frassati Catholic community, Mr. Robert Martin. Mr. Martin is fulfilling a new role at Frassati Catholic, Business Manager, and comes to us with a wealth of experience including managing the largest Church and elementary school in the Diocese of St. Petersburg, FL, and also served as an elected local supervisor of his community in Riverview, FL.
Last week, the Frassati Catholic Varsity Volleyball team clinched the District Championship with wins over Second Baptist and Westbury Christian. The team will prepare for a Tuesday, October 29 Area Playoff game, opponent TBA, with a warm up game, Thursday, October 24 at Rosehill Christian Academy. Varsity Volleyball has been outstanding this season with wins over top-ranked TAPPS 6A and SPC level teams, and they have blown away the single season wins record going 34-5 to date.
On Monday, October 14, 38 students participated in a joint induction ceremony for the Frassati Catholic High School chapters of the National Honor Society (NHS) and Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica (SHH). Both organizations are built on the pillars of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character, qualities shared by our patron, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati.
This week we celebrated our fall athletics with a pep rally as our teams look to finish strong this season. At the District meet on October 10, the boys Cross Country team finished fourth and the girls brought home a first-ever District Championship. Runners Ashlyn Miller and Izabella Vallejo came in first and second respectively. Volleyball beat district opponent Lutheran South and sits at first place. Our Varsity Football team is 0-1 in district play and takes on Northland Christian in a pivotal game Friday, October 11.
Frassati Catholic High School is proud to announce that Andres Cruz Maldonado, Nicolas Pena, and Izabella Vallejo have been named 2019-2020 National Hispanic Scholars. They were among the top 5,000 selected from over 250,000 qualifying students who took the PSAT in their junior year. Join us in congratulating them on this amazing accomplishment.
Spirit Week 2019 was full of fun, friendly competition, and celebration of the Frassati Catholic community. Enjoy this video of one of the most action-packed days of the week, Thrill of Victory Thursday, which featured the House System Olympics.
On the final day of Spirit Week, Supreme Spirit Saturday, our students attended the Spirit Dance which concluded a week full of competitions and events. There were categories for overall attendance and dance skills. Additionally, we received the results of the Pinto Bean and Penny Wars. In the end, Florence emerged as the Champion of Spirit Week 2019.
True Friend Friday is a day of ceasefire. It's a chance to take a break from the competition and remember that our friendship with one another and Christ is at the center of our lives and the Frassati Catholic experience.
The time finally came. Thrill of Victory Thursday and the House Olympics! It was indeed thrilling, with high-level competition across the board. Students showed their skills with their City cheers, games including dodgeball, kanjam, bean bag toss, ultimate frisbee, and much more. At the end of the day Rome still retained first place, but Florence wore down their lead to just 6 points.
Day 3 of Spirit week was all about showing off the finest in western wear. The Houses competed in a costume contest with categories for overall participation and best individual costumes. There was additional time to prepare for the remaining House competitions in Spirit Week, and some last minute adjustments to the House flags before they were judged in the afternoon. For the third day in a row, Rome maintained the lead.
Quite an amazing display of talent during Day 2 of Spirit Week, Texas-Sized Talent Tuesday. The talent show was full of incredible acts including singers, dance, a comedian, Shakespearean theater, magic, and martial arts. During lunch, there was an inter-House game of Human Scrabble. After all was said and done, Rome maintains its place atop the standings.
Frassati Catholic Spirit Week was off to a great start with Disney Movie Monday. There were some fantastic costumes, and the competitions got underway with the paper airplane challenge, card stacking, costume competition, and riddle packet. After one day of competition, Rome leads with 175 points.
