On May 25, 2018 Frassati Catholic High School celebrated their second annual Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement. At ten a.m. the school community gathered to pray with celebrant Daniel Cardinal diNardo in gratitude for the Class of 2018 and for their continued blessings and success.
On May 11, 2018 Frassati Catholic High School acknowledged excellence in academics, athletics, and fine arts at the fifth annual Verso L’alto Summit Awards Ceremony. In addition to awards for these achievements among the whole student body, particular awards are given to members of the graduating class to recognize their achievements over their time at Frassati Catholic. These recognitions include announcing Valedictorian and Salutatorian, and conferring the Man and Woman of the Beatitudes, Virtuous Athlete, and Pier Giorgio Service awards.
Frassati Catholic High School’s Chess team competed in the Cardinal DiNardo All-Region chess tournament on May 5 at St. Theresa Catholic School in Sugar Land, TX. The team placed second in the Houston-area high school division. Individual awards went to two team members: Robert Beaujean placed second and Andrew Pye placed fourth.
Frassati Catholic High School’s track team travelled to Waco, TX for the TAPPS 3A State Championship May 4-5. Fifteen students placed in the top eight for at least one event at the regional championships, qualifying them for state. The track team returned home with three gold medals, two bronze medals, and twelfth place in the state for the boys’ combined efforts.
For the first time this April, Frassati Catholic High School’s Spanish students competed in the National Spanish Exam with over 150,000 other students from around the country. The exam measures proficiency in students divided in groups based on both the course they are currently taking, and the degree of experience they have with Spanish (only in the classroom, or experience with Spanish outside of school). Students are ranked and receive awards based on their performance relative to the performance of other students taking the exam. Frassati Catholic had eighty students who took the test, and twenty-six received medals and thirty-two received an honorable mention.
