The Frassati Catholic Youth and Government Club traveled to the State Capitol in Austin, TX Jan. 25-27 to compete in the YMCA State Conference. Thirteen delegates attended the State Conference, which welcomed more than 1,500 delegates from Texas and Oklahoma for the weekend.

Adam Sucy and Eliana Cordova participated in the Youth and Government Legislature; both were in the House of Representatives.
Adam Sucy was named a top representative for the Legislative competition, and Zachary Harrison was named a top delegate in the State Affairs Forum. Emma Okruhilik was recognized as a top Club Leader, and the entire Frassati Catholic delegation was recognized as a premier delegation which is given to delegations with a high percentage of participation, decorum, and success.
"I am very excited about how far this club has come, this year our students really made a mark for themselves in their committees and chambers," said Club Sponsor and Faculty Member Stephen Schmidt. "It is such a great experience for the delegates to be in Austin and with students from all around the state with all kinds of backgrounds. This weekend was exciting, the Frassati delegates had a lot of energy and really got involved in the thick of things. I believe we will see this group flourish and get even better."
