Updates for April 22

We are approaching the final stretch of the school year and, as happens even in the best of circumstances, this can be a very tiring time. The message to students today is hold on and finish strong! You have accomplished so much this school year, not to mention the amazing job you have done adapting to remote learning, so don't let up, keep pushing until the end. It will be here before we know it.

We continue reimagining events through the end of the year, and will stay in touch with more details as they are available. As you will see below, we have updated the format and dates for our Summit Awards Ceremony, and more events will be announced and rescheduled in the coming weeks:

• We are excited to share that the Summit Awards Ceremony will be presented in two parts on our YouTube channel and on the homepage of the frassaticatholic.org website on Thursday, May 7, and Friday, May 8. Part one will premiere at 7 pm on Thursday, May 7, and part two will premiere at 8 pm on Friday, May 8. Both parts of the Summit Awards Ceremony will remain available on our YouTube channel and website following their premieres. 
   
• Thank you to all the seniors and their families who participated in the senior survey. It was very helpful to hear your ideas and feedback on important events scheduled through the end of the school year. We're pleased to share that one result of the survey is that Friday, May 8 will be the final day of school for our seniors (May 29 remains the final day of school for grades 9-11). Now that the survey is complete, we'd like to host optional video sessions for students and their parents who would like to continue the dialogue or ask additional questions. Both sessions will take place on Wednesday, April 29. Seniors will have their session from 2:45 - 3:30 p.m., and the parent/family session will be 3:30 - 4:15 pm. More information on attending those sessions will be sent directly to seniors and their families.
   
• On Tuesday, April 21, the Board of Trustees met and reiterated that Frassati Catholic will continue to follow the directives/guidelines of our local government leaders and health officials and keep our campus closed for the duration of the school year. 
   
• The Classic Learning Test (CLT) has a content test designed specifically for 9th and 10th graders, and the next administration of this test will be on April 29.  Please review the following information directly from Ashley Brashear and CLT.  The registration deadline for this test is April 27.
  
  CLT recognizes the need for more scholarship opportunities for high school freshmen and sophomore families, especially during this time. The CLT10, which is the official preparatory exam for the CLT, makes students eligible for a $2,500 scholarship to a CLT partner college, is free, and takes two hours!  Several CLT10 scholarship recipients have chosen to use their scholarship at Baylor University, Houston Baptist University, Christendom College, Ave Maria University, etc. 
  
  Please join us for the last CLT10 of the semester this coming Wednesday, April 29th! Students can take the exam from the comfort and safety of their home at any time during the day.

• Our athletics office is beginning preparations for next school year. Part of that planning process includes finding out how many students we expect to participate in each sport next year.  We're asking families to talk with their student(s) this week about plans for athletics next year and complete the short survey that can be accessed with the link below.  In addition to helping us with our planning, this form helps us communicate with you directly about the sport(s) of your choice.  If you have more than one child who will participate in sports next year, please submit the form separately for each child.  If your child does not plan to participate in sports next year, there is a place on the survey to indicate that as well.
  
  You can access the survey here, or by pasting the link (https://forms.gle/UHjo3RH5T4HAJy3m9) into your browser. The deadline to submit this form is this Friday, April 24.  After this date, we will be sending out more information about the FAST summer program and other possible offseason plans. 
   
• On Wednesday, April 29, on the Feast of St. Catherine, Dominicans and friends all around the world will unite in praying the Glorious Mysteries against the pandemic at 9 pm (local time) as a part of the Rosary Rally for the Whole Dominican Family. Read this PDF for more information, and plan to join us in prayer on April 29.
