This week, Frassati Catholic students published the school's first student-run newspaper, La Stampa Frassati.
The possibly of a school newspaper had been on the minds of many students for a long time, and the newspaper's inaugural staff, with the help of Sister Anna Laura, O.P., made that vision a reality.
The newspaper's inaugural staff includes Editor-in-Chief Blake Perry '19, Amanda Heinzler '18, Angel Frando, '19, Ariana Santos '18, Christopher Phan '18, Conlan Taylor '18, Jared Thome '18, Juliana Esparza '18, Vivian Segura '18, Reymundo Pena '18, Sean Holmes '18, and Travis Politakis '18.
The newspaper's name is inspired by an Italian publication, La Stampa, once owned by the father of Blessed Pier Giorgio, Alfredo Frassati.
"Through this newspaper, we hope to carry on the tradition and spirit of Frassati Catholic High School by creating a forum to build communication and community among the students," writes Perry.
La Stampa Frassati will be published quarterly, and includes school news, a student forum, a comic strip, and a variety of other sections.
The "Wordsmith's Forge" is "dedicated to giving students the opportunity to share their gift for the written word. In doing so, we hope to encourage many to take up the pen and become true wordsmiths, reflecting the beauty of the world with eloquence and truth."
There is also a spirituality and service corner, in which there is "a different spiritual challenge each quarter, which we hope will help our fellow students rise to the heights of holiness."
