Three Frassati Catholic High School students were selected by the Texas Private School Music Educators Association for participation in All-Region and All-State Choirs.
Over 800 Texas high school students submitted recordings evaluated by numerous panels of music professionals for participation in multi-day workshops and concerts.
Amanda Heinzler '18, was one of 60 women selected to perform as part of the All-Region Treble Chorus conducted by Aaron Harp. Josh Elegado '18 and Catherine Markus '17 were selected to perform as members of the All-Region Mixed Chorus, conducted by Rice University's Director of Choral Studies Dr. Thomas Jaber. The All-Region Clinic and Concert culminated in a concert at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory's Parsley Center.
Catherine Markus, chosen as one of the top 20 Altos across the state, was invited to participate in the All-State Chorus. The All-State Chorus was conducted by University of Houston Moore's School of Music Director of Choral Studies and Houston Symphony Chorus director Dr. Betsy Cook Weber. In addition to three days of intense rehearsal, members of the All-State Chorus performed with orchestral accompaniment, met and worked with composers of some of the vocal literature, and sang the world premiere of "Think On These Things" by composer Daniel Gawthrop. The weekend culminated with a perform at the Charles W. Eisemann Center for the Performing Arts in Richardson, Texas.
