Early next week the Frassati Catholic Softball team will take on their next challenge – postseason play. After a regular season full of grit, determination and growth, the team will face the third place finishers from District 3 of San Antonio in a Bi-District playoff with the chance to advance to the Area and Regional playoffs. With a strong core and senior leadership, the team is looking forward to making their postseason debut and taking strong play into their game next week.
This season has been one of development for the team. In any given year a move from 3A to 5A competition would be challenging enough. For Frassati Catholic the added obstacle was starting a brand new varsity Softball program. "This is our very first year of district play for Softball," says Katie Hoff, the Frassati Catholic Assistant Athletic Director. “These girls have started a brand new program in the stiff competition of 5A. With Ft. Bend Christian, the defending state champion, in our district, they have certainly risen to the challenge which makes their playoff berth all the more remarkable. We’re so proud of our Falcons Softball team.”
Next week’s game in San Antonio will be scheduled following the breaking of a three-way tie for second place in District 3.
