Frassati Catholic High School’s Model United Nations team attended the Texas Model UN Assembly in Dallas, TX April 13-15. The YMCA Texas Model UN is hosted by the Dallas YMCA and invites participants from around the state to simulate a General Assembly of the United Nations. Nicholas Young, a Senior at Frassati Catholic, was invited as a member of the UN Security Council, and passed several resolutions into General Assembly.
Adam Sucy, Sophomore, and Paulina Padilla, Junior, were both awarded as “Honorable Delegates” for their actions in the Special Political and Decolonization Committee. Grace Ann Fruge, Sophomore, Zachary Harrison, Freshman, Emma Okruhlik, Junior, Andrea Peimbert, Junior, all sponsored resolutions that passed into General Assembly.
Stephen Schmidt, Club Sponsor: “I was proud of the way I saw the Frassati delegation compete and deal with conflict, the club has come a long way from its first conference last year and found some new challenges and opportunities along the way. They confronted complex issues with seriousness and poise. It is incredible what they have accomplished as delegates, chairs, and leaders in both Youth and Government as well as Model United Nations this year.”
Eliana Cordova, State Parliamentarian and Junior at Frassati Catholic High School: “Just as the U.N. prides itself on the gathering of nations for a common purpose, the Frassati [Government & Debate] team rallies with others at the MUN conference, to debate about controversial topics prevalent today”
