Luis Esparza '20 performed at the TPSMEA All-State Clinic and Concert Jan. 26-28 at the Charles W. Eisemann Center for the Performing Arts in Richardson, TX. The choir, conducted by Dr. Sandra Snow from Michigan State University, was composed of students from throughout the state of Texas.
"Luis's dedication to the music and his attention to detail is what sets him apart as a performer," said Dr. Lindsay Medina, Fine Arts Department Chair. "The selection process is very competitive, with several hundred recordings for each voice part being submitted across the state of Texas. The Clinic is demanding, with singers rehearsing 5-8 hours a day over three days. We treat them like professionals, and true to form, Luis rose to the occasion. I am extremely proud of Luis's leadership in our choral department and in the greater TPSMEA All-State Choir."
TPSMEA is an organization of over 200 private school educators that promotes music education and competition. Students submitted CD recordings to TPSMEA which were anonymously judged at the regional competition at St. Agnes Academy on Oct. 30.
