Jack Edwards '17 named National Merit Finalist

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) has announced that Jack Edwards, a Frassati Catholic senior, is among approximately 15,000 finalists in the 62nd annual National Merit Scholarship Program. He is among the academically talented high school seniors who now have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth about $33 million.
About 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which served as an initial screen of program entrants. The nationwide pool of finalists represents less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. To be considered for a National Merit Scholarship, semifinalists must advance to finalist standing in the competition by meeting high academic standards and all other requirements explained in the materials provided to each semifinalist.
