The Frassati Catholic Golf team competed at the Ft. Bend Christian Invitational hosted at the Pecan Grove Plantation Country Club in Richmond, Monday, March 25. This was the second invitational of the season and the Frassati Catholic Girls team built on their early success. From the start, the Girls team was at a disadvantage with two of their six members unable to attend, but standout play helped them power through to a third-place finish.
Excellent individual performances propelled the team to another third-place finish on the season. Anna Claire Fincher finished in first place, shooting two-under par, Ellie Fincher finished second with a plus-two performance and Morgan Martinez shot a personal best on the day.
“We’re really proud of our golf teams,” said Assistant Athletic Director Katie Hoff. “It was an awesome day for the girls and with only four players able to compete in this tournament, the third-place finish was truly a team effort. Anna Claire and Ellie Fincher played great and it wouldn't have happened without key contributions from Lily Valenzuela and Morgan Martinez, who shot a personal best.
Next up, the Boys and Girls teams will host the Frassati Catholic Invitational on April 8 at Windrose Golf Club in Spring, TX.
