The Frassati Falcons Blue Volleyball team defeated The Woodlands Christian Academy Warriors yesterday in a rematch of its season opener. With yesterday’s win, the Falcons Blue team improves to 5-0 on the season.
In the opening game of the season, the Falcons defeated the Warriors in a tightly contested contest. Thursday afternoon, the Warriors again proved a real test for the Falcons. While the Falcons comfortably won the first set, the Warriors made a few adjustments to rally in the second. The Falcons, however, stayed composed and recorded their fifth win of the season.
“It was a genuine team effort,” said Falcons head coach, Katie Hoff. “We had great serving and we had really good movement on defense. We were talking and communicating a lot better than we have been.”
The Falcons have continued to gel as the season progress, with leaders stepping up both on and off the court. “I finally get the sense that they’re really coming together as a team,” said Hoff. “We continue to grow and continue to improve.”
Confidence has been key for the Falcons in their strong start to the season, but Coach Hoff has made sure the team remains grounded and focused going into its next game. Both the Falcons Blue and Gray teams will play Spring High School Friday afternoon (9/5) at 4:00 p.m. The games will be played at the Spring High School campus.
