Junior Catherine Markus and sophomore Josh Elegado were recently recognized by the Texas Private School Music Educators Association (TPSMEA) after judging in Houston and Plano for their voice performances; alto Markus was chosen as part of the All-Region Women’s Choir, and bass Elegado as part of the All-Region Mixed Chorus and All-State Mixed Chorus. Both will represent Frassati Catholic at the TPSMEA All-Region concert Jan. 15-16 in Houston. Elegado will also represent the school at the All-State clinic and concert Jan. 28-30 in Richardson, TX.
TPSMEA is an organization of over 200 private school educators that promotes music education and competition. Students submitted CD recordings to TPSMEA which were anonymously judged at the regional competition at St. Agnes Academy on Oct. 16. Students and CDs selected at the regional level were again judged at the state level in Houston and Plano on Oct. 26.
