The fall athletics teams continue a great start to the season with our Varsity Volleyball at 26-4, Cross Country runners consistently performing at a high level, and the Football team getting a big win in their first home game of the season.
Our Varsity Volleyball team continues to roll the competition and are now at 26-4 on the season. They lead the district in wins, and had a great showing at the FAST tournament last weekend, going 2-2 against a mix of 5A and 6A TAPPS competition.
At the
Houston Christian Invitational on September 14, eight of the fourteen Frassati Catholic runners posted season best times and one tied her season-best. Leading the boys Varsity team was Thomas Langley who finished two miles in 11:27. Other top performers for the boys included Mark Morrison with a time of 11:39 and Nathan Bartsch with a time of 13:11. The girls Varsity team finished first overall with Ashlyn Miller finishing the two mile race in third place with a time of 12:27. Right on her heels was senior Izabella Vallejo in 4th with a time of 12:28. Grace Delahoussaye finished 12th and earned her first medal of the season. Cross Country heads to the Second Baptist Soaring Eagles Meet on Saturday, September 21.
The Football team had a huge 51-13 win over Cristo Rey Jesuit on September 13. John Hill, Dade Lyons and Garrett England, all scored a touchdown. James Cassidy scored 3 touchdowns, Joey Abrams had 1 passing and 2 rushing touchdowns, David Stowe scored a safety, and Alex Ruiz caught an interception. Defense dominated the game with more than 10 tackles and 10 sacks. The defensive player of the game was John Okruhlik, and the offensive player of the game was James Cassidy. The Football team will take on Austin-based Dominic Savio at home this Friday at The John Cooper School.
