The Falcons Track & Field team had a strong showing at the Rosehill Christian Relays on Mar. 5, with several students achieving their personal best times in the first meet of the season.
“Students competed against 2A, 3A, and 4A schools and did extremely well against much larger schools with junior and seniors,” pointed our Coach Mark Pertuso.
Joseph Rawicki '19 placed third in the 100 M race and Alex de la Maza '18 set personal best times in both the 1600 M and 3200 M race, along with Cullen Miller '18 in the 3200 M. Cameron Gill '18 (800 M), Mia Romero '19 (1600 M), Nathan Hardham '18 and Gianna Airola '19 (3200 M) and Matthew Meyer '17 and Margarita Caceres '17 (Shot Put) also placed well.
“I am continually impressed by the character and work ethic of our Track & Field athletes here at Frassati,” said Coach Ralph Maddalena. “I am looking forward to working with the incoming freshman and returning underclassmen to build on the accomplishments of past seasons.”
The Falcons Track & Field team will compete next at the Cypress Christian School Relays on Saturday, Apr. 2 at Cypress Christian.
The goals for the team in the next meet, said Maddalena, remain the same: “The beauty of Track & Field is that our goals going into every meet are very clear: run faster, throw farther, and jump longer. Hard work and a competitive team spirit will get us there.”
