The varsity boys Cross Country team captured first place at the Rosehill Christian Cross Country Challenge on Saturday, September 10, continuing its run of impressive early season performances.
The varsity boys team captured a 1st place team title by having three runners in the top 10 finishers. Nathan Hardham '18 finished second, Alex De la Maza '18 finished third, and Cullen Miller '18 finished eighth, each earning individual awards. Cameron Gill '18 and John Paul Bartsch '19 sealed the team's victory with top 20 performances.
In the JV Girls race, Alyssa Lopez '20 finished in second place overall. Lopez has earned silver medals in all three of her races so far this season. Theresa Macora '19 ran a very competitive race and took home an individual award with her fourteenth place finish.
"I am very pleased with our team's progress so far this season," said Head Coach, Ralph Maddalena. "Saturday's race was our first chance this year to get out and run some hills and rough terrain. Capturing a first place Varsity team title is a significant milestone for our young program."
