Four Frassati Catholic students will be continuing their athletics careers in college. During the spring sports recognition night we hosted a ceremonial signing for our athletes who will play at the collegiate level and took some time to celebrate their accomplishments. Jennelle Edlin will play soccer for the University of St. Thomas, Clare Finney will play lacrosse at Catholic University of America, JD Morgan will play football for Ave Maria University and Gabriel Weitzman will play football for University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Jennelle Edlin was a founding member of our our girls soccer team, and has been a team captain for the last 3 years. She earned the Falcon Award last year for her leadership and dedication to her team. Jennelle’s Club Select team the Klein Stars, were two-time Aggieland Classic Champions and COPA ESPN Invitational Champions.
Clare Finney has played three different sports during her time here at Frassati, and has been a member of our varsity volleyball team for the past four years, being a major contributor to the team and earning a Falcon Award. In addition to these accomplishments, she has also excelled on The Woodlands club lacrosse team since 2009. She was named captain of the JV team in 2016, and in that same year earned the MVP Award and Most Ground Balls and Assists Award. Her team won the South Central Region Texas National Team Qualifier in 2016. In 2017 Clare rose to the Varsity team, and her team won the Houston City Championship and Advanced to State Tournament. She earned the Coaches Award for being the most coachable player in 2017, and was named a Varsity Captain in 2019. She was selected to play with Tenacity Elite Texas 2019’s Lacrosse Team for four years including this season.
JD Morgan is a founding member of our football team, and has given his talents to three different sports at Frassati. He has been a team captain for basketball and football, was a recipient of the Falcon Award. He has been a two time state qualifier for track, won several basketball All Tournament selections, earned First Team All District Honors in football and basketball, and earned a basketball All State Tournament selection in his Junior year. In addition to his accomplishments at Frassati, JD was invited to several Football camps and combines, including invitations from, Colombia University, Wyoming University, Northwestern State University, and Ave Maria University. JD earned an annual Athletic scholarship, annual Academic Scholarship, early sign grant and the Faith and Football Scholarship at Ave Maria University.
Gabriel Weitzman has participated in four different sports over his four years at Frassati, including soccer, tennis, and track, and was a founding member of our football team in 2016. Gabriel has been a major contributor on the football field, and this fall was honored by the Touchdown Club of Houston as a nominee for Private School Pre-Season All District Player of the Year.
