Catherine Markus '17 has been nominated and selected to receive the 2016-17 Youth for Christ Award from the Archdiocesan Office of Adolescent Catechesis and Evangelization during the Archdiocesan Youth Conference.
The award "is given to teens that have made a significant contribution in youth ministry as outstanding models of service to other youth on the archdiocesan, deanery, or parish levels of youth ministry." Markus, a member of the Archdiocesan Youth Council, received the award due to her "outstanding contributions."
Markus was recognized, along with other recipients, on July 30, 2017, at a celebration and Mass with Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
A May 2017 graduate of Frassati Catholic, Markus will be attending Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
