Area Champs!

11/11: AREA CHAMPS! The Frassati Falcons took down the St. Michael's Academy Crusaders in five exciting sets to win their second straight Area Championship and a spot in the Regional Championship match.  Neither team was able to pull ahead by more than four points for most of the match, with the momentum shifting back and forth and both teams showing an incredible amount of hustle and grit.

Alexis Bodunrin (#7) led the charge with 29 kills and a season high 15 digs, while her sister Andrea Bodunrin (#9) had 52 assists, 22 digs, and 6 kills of her own. Adding to the offense was Natalia Kacprzak (#16), Lauren McCollor (#14), Cat Briers (#6), and Katharine Liepman (#12) with a total of 21 kills.  Alexis, along with Cat, Katharine, and Natalia combined for 22 big touches on the block which kept the Crusaders' big hitters at bay.  Katharine and Natalia each had massive solo blocks which worked to turn the game's momentum the Falcons' way. Vanessa Munguia (#1), Meghan Webb (#2), and Janelle Padilla (#8) added to the rock solid defense with 10+ digs each.  The Falcons employed an aggressive service game as well - Meghan, Vanessa, and Cat Briers each contributed 2 aces, while Alexis Bodunrin pounded in 4!
