Grant Guidry ’20 and Matthew Jannes ’20 have joined an exclusive club, both reaching 1000 career points as members of the Frassati Catholic boys varsity basketball team. Guidry, a four-year varsity player, reached his 1000 point milestone during a home game against The Woodlands Christian Academy on Nov. 8. Jannes, a member of the varsity team since his arrival at Frassati Catholic in his sophomore year, reached 1000 points in an away game against St. John XXIII College Prep on Nov. 12.
Chris Meredith, boys varsity basketball coach and Director of Athletics remarked, “to reach 1000 points in a high school basketball career takes a lot of hard work, determination, longevity, and support from fellow teammates. It is pretty special to have a chance to coach a team where two players reach that mark in the same season.”
Guidry and Jannes were honored with personalized 1000 point club posters during the Dec. 3 home game against Cypress Christian School. They join Johanna Kloesel ’17 as the only three Frassati Catholic varsity basketball players to have 1000 career points. Congratulations to Grant Guidry and Matthew Jannes.
