Three members of the Frassati Falcons Track & Field team competed at the TAPPS 2A State Championships at Baylor University on May 9. Freshmen Cameron Gill, Alex de la Maza, and Ashley Starnes all competed well for the Falcons. Gill ran his best time of the year in the 1600-meters, finishing sixth. De la Maza also placed sixth in the 3200-meters.
“I am very proud of these three young athletes who are the first to represent the school in a State Championship Track and Field meet,” said Falcons Track & Field Coach, Ralph Maddalena. Only nine athletes qualified for each event from throughout the state. In only its second year, the Falcons Track & Field team sent three athletes to the TAPPS State Meet, and 15 to the TAPPS Regional Meet. The Falcons were coached by Maddalena, Mark Pertuso, and Marc Meyer.
