As May came to a close, three Frassati Catholic High School students, Avery Kemp ‘22, Katharine Liepman ‘22, and Ashlyn Miller ’22, were recognized by the Classic Learning Test (CLT) as Regional Scholars for their performance on the CLT10, an alternative standardized testing option to the PSAT. The students performed in the top 5% in the Southwest Region and were notified that they would be candidates for the National Award. On May 28, Ashlyn Miller was selected as one of the CLT National Award Recipients, a group of students who tested in the top 1% nationwide.
The CLT has gained attention in recent years as a viable alternative to other standardized testing options. The exam is administered online, and students can complete their testing in two hours. CLT has experienced rapid growth, and is now accepted by 200+ colleges, including the University of Baylor Honors College, and many Catholic universities across the country. Many CLT partner institutions now offer exclusive scholarships to CLT test takers.
Frassati Catholic principal, Sister John Paul, O.P., was thrilled to honor the scholars. “We are so proud of Avery, Katharine, and Ashlyn. Their selection as CLT scholars is a remarkable achievement and speaks to their hard work and dedication to intellectual pursuits. It is also exciting for our school to be represented by these three scholars. It is a validation of the quality of our curriculum as well as the academic ability of our students, and recognition at this level is a great benefit to a new school like ours.”
Along with her recognition as a National Award Winner, Ashlyn Miller will receive a $2500 scholarship to attend any CLT partner school. Congratulations to Avery Kemp, Katharine Liepman, and Ashlyn Miller.
