Students mark visit of Pope Francis and the World Meeting of Families with week of events

As the United States welcomes Pope Francis this week, the Frassati Catholic community will mark each day of the week with a special event to celebrate his historic visit.

Monday: Students may join the Pro-Life club in praying a rosary during lunch for the Holy Father’s safety and the openness of America to his message

Tuesday: Students will participate in “The Art of Living: Community and Culture Day,” which will allow them to work toward building a school culture where everyone can be themselves and grow in “the art of living” (a phrase from Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI). Students may wear papal colors or red, white, and blue.

Wednesday: To mark the canonization of Junipero Serra, his biography will be read during morning announcements.

Thursday: Students will watch Pope Francis’ address to Congress in their Religion classes.

Friday: An intention will be offered at the All-School Mass for Pope Francis and the World Meeting of Families.
