Students Compete in Texas French Symposium

Two Frassati Catholic students competed for the first time in the 54th Texas French Symposium on March 23-24 at The Woodlands High School. Luis Esparza '20 and Juan Pablo Esparza '20 represented Frassati Catholic High School as students in level two and level three.

Juan Pablo made it to the finals in Poetry, and Luis reached the finals in Sight Reading and Prose. Luis was later awarded first place in Prose, and sixth place in both Sight Reading and Vocabulary. Juan Pablo placed fourth in Pencil and Charcoal. Both boys placed second in the T-shirt design contest. The award ceremony was attended by 756 participants from 38 Texas schools and the French Consulate.

The Texas French Symposium is a statewide competition for high school students of French (non-native French speakers). French teachers from any high school in Texas may bring students to compete in oral events, academic tests, art and music events.
