Quite an amazing display of talent during Day 2 of Spirit Week, Texas-Sized Talent Tuesday. The talent show was full of incredible acts including singers, dance, a comedian, Shakespearean theater, magic, and martial arts. During lunch, there was an inter-House game of Human Scrabble. After all was said and done, Rome maintains its place atop the standings.
The talent show was the real highlight of the day. All our performers were excellent, and the scores were incredibly close. After the judges tallied their votes, Genevieve Roehl of Pollone came in third place with her performance of "One More Minute." Second place was a tie between the All-City band cover of "Shot Through The Heart" featuring Nick Janocik, Vincent Garcia, Mark Morrison, and Grant Guidry, and Florence's Katie Spartz with her rendition of "You Can't Get A Man With A Gun." Finally, in first place was the martial arts dynamic duo, The Resurreccion Brothers of Florence, Jerel and Jackson Resurreccion.
The Human Scrabble competition favored Rome who won outright with 504. In second place was Pollone with 408 followed closely by Turin with 392. Florence came in fourth with 272.
Following two days of competition, here is the Spirit Week leaderboard with point totals:
There are plenty of opportunities for changes in the standings as we head into Day 3, Western Wear Wednesday.
