The Frassati Catholic Model UN team had a strong performance in Dallas this past weekend at its first Texas State Assembly.
Nicholas Young and Amanda Heinzler both authored resolutions that passed in the General Assembly. Kayla Auza, Eliana Cordova, Emma Okruhlik, Paulina Padilla and Adam Sucy all authored or sponsored great resolutions that passed in their committees. Kayla Auza was named Top Delegate for the Special Political Committee, fighting to resolve conflicts between Israel and Palestine and Amanda Heinzler was named Top Delegate for the World Health Organization, and argued for expanded development of sanitation resources in underdeveloped countries. Nicholas Young was also named an Honorable Delegate for his performance in the Sustainable Development Committee.
Finally, Eliana Cordova was chosen to be the Parliamentary Secretariat for the state-wide program for next year, and will hold a leadership position in next year’s Texas Model United Nations.
