March 23 Updates

As we begin this second week of remote learning we wanted to express gratitude for the many ways our community has gone above and beyond the call of duty to take on the challenges before us and keep moving forward with as much normalcy as possible. We want to encourage students to communicate with their teachers so they can continue to provide necessary materials and information. Here are our updates for today:

• Thank you to everyone who completed our first survey last week. It was comforting to know that you are all still doing well in these unusual circumstances and that everyone, from faculty to students, is getting the hang of working remotely. We heard that many students are working to get in a rhythm learning from home, and we're happy to share a video broadcast made by some of our students with tips and tricks for being productive.  You can find that video on our Facebook and Instagram accounts.
• A friendly reminder that we have implemented a new attendance policy that is now in effect. Please review this letter from Mr. Mark Pertuso explaining the policy and procedure for students.
• If you haven't completed your course selections, please do so immediately. Course selections are due for 10-12 graders in the 2020-2021 Academic Year. Hard copies can be scanned and emailed to Mrs. Reynolds. Please ensure students have circled any courses on the front of the form if they are able to choose which course they want to take. The electives need to be ranked on the back, and please do not rank anything you have already taken unless it is study hall or a class that can be taken more than once. Make sure to send the front and back of the form.
• Tomorrow we will begin recording teacher's Google Hangout Meet sessions. We are continuing to accept parental permission forms for these recorded video sessions. All students will require parental permission for to be recorded as a part of any Google Hangout Meet video session. You'll find the permission form here. Please complete, scan and email this permission form to Mrs. Reynolds as soon as possible. For those without a scanner at home, there are a number of free apps that will allow you to use your phone to scan documents, including CamScanner.
• For students who are taking AP courses next year, you'll need to complete the AP Policy Form. For students who are requesting to take more than two AP courses next year (this includes elective classes), you'll need to also complete the Request for Exception to AP Policy Form. You can download the AP Policy Form here, and the Request for Exception to AP Policy Form here. When complete, these forms can be emailed directly to Mrs. Reynolds at a.reynolds@frassaticatholic.org.
• During this time, we will continue providing opportunities for weekday prayers with our students through Instagram Live. The Angelus will be livestreamed each weekday at noon, and we will announce additional prayer opportunities via our Facebook and Instagram accounts.
• Please continue to stay up-to-date on the latest advisories and recommendations from your local health care authorities and public officials. It is very important that we have the latest information and are following the recommendations for our communities.
