Kiki Vorderbruggen '21 was selected as a finalist in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Quick Draw competition. She was chosen as one of the 25 finalists from more than one thousand submissions in the portrait category. This Saturday Vorderbruggen will attend the finals of the Quick Draw Portrait Competition at NRG Center where she will have one hour to complete a work which will be judged alongside the other finalists.
During the competition, finalists will have one hour to complete a sketched portrait of a live subject. Vorderbruggen has spent her Christmas Break preparing for the competition. "During the break, I scheduled about six different hour-long sessions with members of my family and friends and asked them to pose so I could practice for Saturday's competition." Her preparation is bound to help her as she gets ready for the event.
Following the competition judges will select one Champion and one Reserve Champion based on the Saturday, January 11 competition and winners will receive cash prizes.
We are so proud of Kiki and wish her luck at the competition this Saturday!
