Frassati Catholic Cross Country had a strong showing at the District Championships on Saturday, October 24, at The Woodlands Christian Academy. The outing was highlighted by the girls team finishing second in the district.
Ashlyn Miller led the girls team with a 2nd place finish, Annie Perry came in 5th, and Grace Delahoussaye finished 10th. Each medaled, and with their top-10 performance earned All-District honors. Mary Maggio and Lucy Simon also earned points for the girls team. Season best times were posted for Grace Delahoussaye, Mary Maggio, Lucy Simon, Denise Simon, Lauren Sharpless, and Anna Turner.
From the boys team, Andrew Langley led with a 16th place finish in a highly competitive field of runners. In addition to Langley, Jack Miggins, Dustyn Bedia, Collin Dufrene, and Nathan Bartsch all earned points for the boys team. Andrew Langley, Dustyn Bedia, Collin Dufrene, and Nathan Bartsch, Lucas Rivera, and Joseph Dinh all posted season best times in the race.
Coach Ralph Maddalena was thrilled with his team. "Our runners turned in some very impressive performances today at the District Championships. Taking 2nd place in the Women’s race, having 3 All-District runners, and so many personal best times is testimony to all the hard work the team has put in this season. This team is prepared for State!"
The Falcons will compete in their final meet of the season, the TAPPS State Championship, in Hewitt, TX on Monday, November 2nd.
