The Frassati Falcons Blue Volleyball team won its season opener Thursday night (8/21) vs. The Woodlands Christian Academy Warriors. After losing the first set, the Falcons rallied to win a closely contested second set. The Falcons again fought back from behind in the third set to gain the lead before the Warriors responded with a strong rally of their own. The Falcons, however, kept their composure and recorded their first win of the season.
Falcons Head Coach, Katie Hoff, was thrilled with her team's effort: "It was super exciting. I knew they could do it. They pulled through...they were behind but kept working at it. It feels really good to get that one under our belts."
First game jitters were evident early on, but the Falcons soon settled in and turned the game around in the second set. "I think the first set was all about learning what game situations were all about...we were trying some new rotations out. The second set they were much more comfortable," said Hoff.
Coach Hoff and the Falcons Blue and Gray teams will spend Monday preparing for their home openers on Tuesday afternoon (8/26) at 4:00 p.m. at Legends Sports Complex in Spring, TX. The Blue and the Gray teams will play back-to-back.
