SPRING, Texas (Oct. 23, 2014) - Students, faculty, staff, parents and board members will gather at 2 p.m., Oct. 28, at Frassati Catholic High School to break ground on Phase 1B of the master plan for the 63-acre campus off Spring-Stuebner Road in Spring, TX.
George A. Sheltz, Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, will officiate at the groundbreaking ceremony, just as he did at Frassati Catholic's first groundbreaking on August 25, 2012.
"The completion of the gym/fine arts building and a second academic building allows the school to grow to approximately 400 students and remain on track towards the ultimate goal of the Master Plan for a campus of approximately 1,000 students," said Frassati Catholic Board President, Tim Knittig. "This phase is extremely important to the growth of the Frassati arts, athletics, culture and the operational viability of the school." Completion is slated for the fall of 2015.
"Students will soon have the opportunity to practice and play most of our sports without having to leave campus," said Frassati Catholic Athletic Director, Chris Meredith. "The facilities will also bring a sense of school spirit and community to the campus which is so important for a high school."
Frassati Catholic High School was established in 2013 thanks to the support of more than 1,000 benefactors who saw the need for a Catholic high school on the north side of Houston. Phase 1B is another step toward realizing the school's vision.
"We're incredibly grateful for the benefactors who made Phase 1A possible," said Knittig. "However, these benefactors cannot do this entire project alone. We continue to need new benefactors from the community to support Phase 1B of the Master Plan. Together, we can build a school that will make a positive difference in our community for years to come."
