On Wednesday, December 4, Jerel Ressureccion received the Burlsworth Character Award. The award honors the legacy of Brandon Burlsworth, a football walk-on at the University of Arkansas who became an All-American and was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts before losing his life in a tragic car accident. The Burlsworth Character Award recognizes young athletes who demonstrate outstanding character and sportsmanship.
Jerel has been a key member of the Frassati Catholic football team, and as a senior, demonstrated vital leadership on the team with his attitude and actions throughout the season. He was nominated for the Burlsworth Character Award by Coach Calvin LaFiton, and Coach LaFiton presented him with the award in front of the entire Frassati Catholic Student Body.
While Jerel is still weighing his college options, he has been offered a scholarship to play football at Trinity International University. Congratulations to Jerel on receiving the Burlsworth Character Award!
