Carl Heinzler ’18, Cameron Gill ’18, Matthew Villareal ’18, and Patrick Weisbrod ’19 were awarded Religious Emblems by the Archdiocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting on Saturday, Feb. 7 at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory. Heinzler received the
Ad Altare Dei Emblem (To the Altar of God) for his completion of the program, designed “to help Catholic Boys Scouts and Ventures of the Roman Rite develop a fully Christian way of life in the faith community” (
National Catholic Committee on Scouting). Gill, Weisbrod, and Villareal received the
Pope Pius XII Emblem for their completion of the program, the purpose of which is “to help Boy Scouts and Venturers examine how being a Christian affects daily life in a real world, to challenge them to evaluate their own personal talents and abilities, and to give them an opportunity to share faith and practice their religion among peers” (
NCCS).
