Megan Angelo '17, Kayla Auza '17, Diana Davis '17, Amanda Heinzler '18, and Catherine Markus '17 received "Superior" ratings at the Texas Private School Music Educators Association's (TPSMEA) Solo and Ensemble Contest at The John Cooper School in The Woodlands on February 23.
Students who receive a “Superior” rating and will advance to the State Solo and Ensemble Contest held Friday - Saturday March 31 - April 1 at The John Cooper School. Each student sang challenging repertoire from the solo vocal tradition.
"This is the first year we have competed in the most challenging category, and only our second year taking part in this competition," said Dr. Lindsay Medina, director of fine arts. "The girls exhibited remarkable work ethic. The girls met for numerous voice lessons after school and several students took on the added challenge of singing in Latin, Italian, or French. We have remarkable talent at Frassati Catholic, and I am so proud of the girls for their discipline in cultivating and sharing that talent."
