The Frassati Falcons Track & Field team had a strong showing at the Cypress Christian School Relays on Mar. 28, finishing in fifth place overall.
The team was led by the performances of the Falcons relay teams. The 4x100 meter relay team, made up of freshman Sean Holmes and Broderick Hogan, and sophomores Alec Bushong and J.T. Payne, finished in third place; the 4x200 meter relay team, made up of Holmes, Bushong, Payne, and freshman Cameron Gill, matched that result with another third-place finish. “Everyone was delighted with the performance of the two relay teams which medaled for the first time in a varsity meet,” said Falcons Coach, Ralph Maddalena. The team continues to improve as they set their sights set on the TAPPS District Meet on April 18.
“I was very pleased with the overall outcome of the meet," said Maddalena. “The highlight for me was to see almost all of our athletes achieve their best individual performances of the season. We probably had the youngest team at the meet, so an overall fifth place finish was a great accomplishment and a direct reflection of all the hard work that our team has been putting in during practices. We will be working hard and are looking forward to the district meet in a few weeks.”
The Falcons Track & Field team will compete next at the Cooper Dragon Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 11 at John Cooper in The Woodlands.
