Flag Football improves to 3-0 with win over Oaks Christian School

The Falcons Flag Football team defeated Oaks Christian School 27-6 on Friday to improve to 3-0. Junior J.T. Payne threw two touchdown passes, connecting with junior Matthew Macora and sophomore Travis Politakis.

The Falcons’ defense continued to play at a very high level and allowed only one touchdown, building on its strong performances from its first two games. Sophomores Broderick Hogan and Mark Hill both returned interceptions for touchdowns, while the Falcons defense, led by the speed of junior Mauro Hernandez and sophomore Pablo Boada, held the Eagles to only one touchdown.

“Overall, the defense has been outstanding, having given up only two touchdowns all season,” said Coach Brian Jones. “The offense has done a great job of giving our defense good leads, and, while the offense needs to improve its consistency, there is certainly no shortage of talent across the board.”

Three games into the season, the team continues to gel, as it looks to build on its strong start. “This is a great group of kids, and there is a deep bond of brotherhood here,” said Jones.

Next up for the Falcons is an away game against Humble Christian on Sept. 24 at 5:30 p.m.
