Both the Frassati Falcons Blue and Gray Volleyball teams won their home openers last night vs. The Woodlands Preparatory Wolverines at Legends Sports Complex. The Falcons Gray team - playing its first competitive match of the season - defeated the Wolverines in two sets. The Falcons Blue team was next to take the court, and continued its strong start to the season by defeating the Wolverines to secure its second win.
The Gray team had a shaky start to the match, but eventually found its rhythm. "I think that there were some nerves, but once they got on the court and through a few rotations, they settled down," said Falcons Head Coach, Katie Hoff.
Just two weeks into the season, both Falcons teams continue to improve: "They've come so far, just in the handful of practices that we've been able to have together," said Hoff. "I think that they are really coming together as teams." This week in practice, Hoff mentioned, both teams will continue to work on improving the consistency of their serving and hitting.
The Falcons Gray team will play again this afternoon (Wednesday 8/27) at 4:30 p.m. vs. St. Thomas Episcopal. The game will be played at Legends Sports Complex. The Falcons Blue team will play away at Legacy Prep on Thursday at 5:00 p.m.
