Bio
Mr. Pertuso was born and raised in Rhode Island and is the grateful product of Catholic education from elementary through graduate school. Education has played a prominent role in his life and after graduating from Providence College, he began his career in Catholic education teaching in the Diocese of Providence for six years before moving to Texas in 2013 to be one of the founding faculty members at Frassati Catholic High School. He coached Track and Field for the past six years at Frassati Catholic and enjoyed his time coaching.
While in Texas Mr. Pertuso met his wife, herself a transplant to Texas from the East Coast of the United States, and they have one daughter, Margaret, with a second child due in February. When not teaching the humanities, his education passion, or fulfilling his roles as Registrar and Clubs Coordinator, Mr. Pertuso loves spending time with his family, kayaking, enjoying the warm weather, reading, and discussing history and theology. He is a fan of
Lord of the Rings and Batman and is always excited for baseball season so he can cheer for the Boston Red Sox.
Getting to Know Mr. Pertuso
What are the values that drive you? Faith, justice, hard work, and loyalty.
I draw strength from both my Catholic faith and my family, and I value the virtues of justice and loyalty. St. John Bosco said, "Health is God’s great gift, and we must spend it entirely for Him. Our eyes should see only for God, our feet walk only for Him, our hands labor for Him alone; in short, our entire body should serve God while we still have the time. Then, when He shall take our health and we shall near our last day, our conscience will not reproach us for having misused it."
I find these words both humbling and sobering, especially in this modern climate, and in my family and professional lives, I try to do all things with and for the Lord.
Before working at Frassati Catholic, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had? In high school and college, I worked as an ice cream scooper and assistant manager at a Rhode Island ice cream shop.
