Cross Country finishes second at Incarnate Word Invitational

The Frassati Catholic Cross Country team got off to a strong start in its first meet of the season, finishing second overall at the Incarnate Word Invitational on Saturday, August 27.

The meet, held at the Houston Amateur Sports Park, featured twelve teams at the Varsity level. The Falcons were led by Nathan Hardham '19, who finished second with a time of 10:42 in the 3,200 Meters. Alex de la Maza '18 finished fourth with a time of 10:49, and Cullen Miller '18 finished seventeenth with a time of 11:29. There were 100 finishers in the Varsity Boys race. 

Both the JV Girls and JV Boys also had some outstanding performances. Each of the three JV girls took home individual medals with Alyssa Lopez '20 finishing in third place, Theresa Macora '19 in ninth, and Gianna Airola '19 in thirteenth. 

"This is the best start our Cross Country team has ever had and it was great to see the girls doing so well," said Head Coach Ralph Maddalena. "The performances were very impressive considering that our practices have been hampered by bad weather over the past two weeks. We are all looking forward to the John Cooper Invitational  next Saturday."

The team will compete next at the John Cooper Invitational on Saturday, September 3, at Burroughs Park.
