Both the Boys and Girls Golf teams won the Southwest Christian Invitational on Tuesday, March 21 at Sharpstown Park Golf Course in downtown Houston. Luis Legarreta '19 led the way for the boys, shooting a 73 to top the individual leaderboard. Hunter Thomas '18 finished with a 79 to capture 3rd place.
The girls were led by Anna Claire Fincher '20 who shot a 72 to top the girls' individual leaderboard. Karina Snaider '19 shot a 94 to finish in 3rd place. There were 143 players in the tournament.
"I am proud of how all of the players kept their composure during what was the longest round of golf I have ever been a part of, said head coach Garrett Nobles. "Scores were pretty much what we expected going in for the boys having lost a player from last year. The girls team, playing in their first tournament, played very well with freshman Anna Claire firing a very impressive score."
The team will play next in the Regional Qualifying Tournament at the end of April.
