The Frassati Catholic baseball team kicked off its inaugural season on Thursday, Feb. 25, with its season opener against Legacy Prep. Despite a loss, Coach Chris Meredith is excited about the prospects for the season and the introduction of baseball to the school’s athletic program.
“The start of the baseball team means that we are one step closer to having the full complement of sports offered by the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools,” said Meredith. “There are a lot of youth baseball players in the area, so it is great that we are now able to offer baseball to those students who come to Frassati Catholic.”
The focus in the inaugural season is establishing a competitive program that will grow along with the school in the years to come.
“I am looking forward to being a part of the first season with a sport that I have greatly enjoyed as a player, coach, and spectator,” said Meredith. “The team seems to share that love of the game and show great enthusiasm in starting the season.”
The team will face Lifestyle Christian in its home opener tonight (3/1) at 4:30 p.m. at the Spring-Klein Baseball Park, where the team practices and plays all of its home games. For the full baseball schedule, click
