Last Friday we communicated our ongoing plan for COVID-19 mitigation on campus which is based on regular assessment of trends in our community, specifically centered around potential on-campus spread of the virus between students, faculty, staff, and/or visitors.
Over the weekend we received reports of four confirmed cases of COVID-19 and an additional four came in overnight. One case so far could have a potential link to on-campus spread. Please know that all individuals who tested positive are doing well, and the households involved are isolating appropriately at home. After careful review, we have determined that seven of the COVID-positive individuals were on campus during their infectious period late last week.
With these developments, we are now moving forward with our mitigation strategy and will
temporarily require masks on-campus while indoors. This period will take place between tomorrow, August 24, and September 7. We will reassess throughout this period, looking critically at our caseload data and will send an update on our temporary masking policy on Friday, September 3, just before this brief reset period is scheduled to end.
For the benefit of the community, we will now be sharing our caseload information on our
COVID-19 webpage on the website. This step mirrors surrounding Independent School Districts and will provide up-to-date information for our families.
The Administrative Team will be meeting three times per week to review the situation, and will continue to communicate with the community regularly as needed.
We continue to encourage families to take precautions at home to protect one another and the Frassati Catholic community. Vaccination, mask wearing, social distancing, and proper hand-washing are important to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, as well as monitoring symptoms each morning before leaving for school. If any signs of illness are noted, we ask that you stay home and we encourage you to consult with your family physician. If your child develops symptoms or tests positive for COVID-19, please contact our school office, email Dr. Cody Medina at
[email protected] or call 832-616-3231.
