The Falcons Cross Country team turned in impressive results across the board in their second meet of the season at the Woodlands Christian Academy on Saturday. The Lady Falcons had a noteworthy second-place team finish in the women’s varsity race against a highly competitive field. Ashlyn Miller once again won the 3200 meter race in a time of 12:06, while freshman Annie Perry made her varsity debut taking ninth place overall. Ashlyn Miller, Annie Perry, Grace Delahoussaye, Mary Maggio, Lauren Sharpless and Juanita Boada each achieved personal best times, which is outstanding for the second meet of the season.
Thomas Langley earned a medal for his fifth-place finish in the men’s 5000 meter varsity race with his personal best time of 17:05. Jack Miggins notably broke the 20-minute barrier, while Andrew Langley, Nathan Bartsch, Lucas Rivera, Paul Eisterhold and freshman Collin Dufrene each had their best ever 5k races.
Frassati Catholic coach, Ralph Maddalena, was happy with the results, “our Falcons had a strong showing today in every race; we truly came to compete!" Coach Maddalena has been pushing his team to continue putting in the effort in practice that translates to success in meets. "Nearly every Varsity and JV runner had their all time best performance, which is impressive for this early in the season. The team has been working tirelessly at practice so it’s rewarding to see their achievements. The coaches are excited to see what else the team will do this season — they’re just getting started."
The Frassati Catholic cross country team will be back in action on Saturday, September 26, at the Providence Classical High School Invitational.
The team will compete at The Woodlands Christian Academy once again next Saturday.
